Environmental portrait photography can also be referred to as lifestyle photography, contemporary, or modern photography in order to differentiate it from traditional studio photography wherein the client comes to a photographer’s studio to be photographed. Tina doesn’t maintain a separate studio but instead travels to a location of the client’s choice, most often their home, or any place they know and in which they are comfortable to be themselves.
Tina prefers to photograph with natural, available light, whether outdoors or indoors, with the location serving as the backdrop. However she does know that sometimes the available light doesn’t always cooperate, and some clients also like to get a studio look, both of which Tina can accommodate by always traveling with a light kit and portable studio backdrop. So you can have it all, a studio portrait made with portable softbox lights (if needed to supplement available light) taken inside your home, followed by a quick excursion out to the back yard or to a nearby park for lively, fun portraits with nature serving as the backdrop.
